Dressing Tips:

The ceremony and reception will be held on the lawn, please be wary when choosing your footwear as heels are likely to sink into the grass. 

Following Dinner we will have all the fixins' for an old fashioned s'mores cookout at our fire-pit. Please feel free to bring a change of clothes if you don't want to get your outfits smoky and would like to partake in the fire-pit fun!

 A Little History of Sydenham:

Sydenham was once big enough to have it's own hotel, unfortunately it is long gone now

Mica
Sydenham is situated on Sydenham Lake (you will notice it as you drive past the Foodland), and is about 20 minutes north of Kingston, Ontario's oldest city. Sydenham, the village, grew as a mining town in the 19th century when the demand for mica (a mineral that used to be used in place of glass when the ability to withstand high temperatures was required) was high.

Gould Lake Conservation Area


Gould Lake. Just a few moments from my house in Sydenham is Gould Lake Conservation area. They have Swimming, Paddle Boat rentals and walking trails around old abandoned mica mines.

The old CPR/ Grandtrunk railway has been converted into the Cataraqui trail, a walking/ biking trail, that cuts through the village and is 135km long.

White Mountain Ice Cream, 176 Ontario Street in Kingston. White Mountain has the best homemade ice cream ever!

Confederation Basin

 Confederation Basin, 53 Yonge street. A small park on the water across from city hall. It has an old train station and is very pretty at night.
